Day 1: The day of the debutants

Day 1 is over and we saw so much at Fashion Exposed – including Australia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 winner Amanda Ware, on the runway. Our favourite thing about Day 1 was the Debut Salon Show. There is nothing like a new designer show to unveil some shiny new gem that no one had seen on the runway. One of our favourites was the designs by ACT designer Sophie Loader of the fashion label Knox (pictured), who’s Liquid Fabric collection oozed sophistication as the models glided up and down the runway. Her designs combined fantastic cut with fluid fabrics, offset by what appeared to be leather finishes, but on closer inspection it was actually a wool/jersey.

We loved Ilse Skestere’s Mademoiselle Butterfly collection for her brand Ilse Couture, but the collection that was the most concise, on trend and just looked luxurious on the runway was the 2011 Debut winner, Where Lovers Lie by Annelise Love-Linay. We found her posing after the show with some models at the Allure Live Lookbook ‘boudior’ area and we must say the sequined dress is just a stand out. Stay tuned for our interview with Annelise as we chat about her new collection and her fashion design ‘past’ in the Caribbean!

Don’t forget to pop by the Debut area at Fashion Exposed today and tomorrow – you can register on site so just pop in if you’re in the area!
