She has the pearly complexion of a snow princess, lashings of lustworthy locks in the deepest chocolate shades, and razor sharp cheekbones that are cutting her out to be fashion’s next big star.
After being scouted by Chadwick Models walking along Sydney Road, Isabel MacMaster was quickly flown to Milan where she worked with fashion heavyweights Giles Deacon and Gabriele Colangelo, and walked in Aldo Coppolla’s show, shot videos for Vespa and print work for Golden Point.
But behind the beauty mask, the Melbourne maven is just a humble homegrown sweetie pie who loves Fuji apples and making video clips with her little sister in her bedroom.
We took five with the leggy looker to chat about her beauty regime, favourite clothing label, and her not-so-secret dream of acting on Home and Away.
You are tipped as the next fresh face, what does this mean to you?
It’s so exciting! It means I can stop worrying about having another job on the side for ‘reliable’ income and that I can put all my energy into being the best model I can be.
When did you know modelling was what you wanted to do?
I never realised I wanted to be a model until I was already modelling. Very quickly after signing a modelling contract in Australia I got flown over to Milan to model there and I suddenly realised how much I love the modelling world.
Where were you when you were discovered? and what were you doing? Were you shocked?
My best friend got scouted while working on Sydney Rd. That agent then saw me on her Facebook page and contacted me. I was a bit shocked but I was more unsure of whether I was actually capable of modelling! Then everything happened so quickly that I realised I obviously was, which was relieving.
Who are your style influences and why?
I love looking at pictures of style icons like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller but I tend to dress myself with a more 60′s/Twiggy influence.
Are there any iconic Australian or international models who inspire you?
Miranda Kerr is a huge inspiration to me. She obviously has to look a certain way for modelling but I love that she chooses to eat healthily and exercise rather than being slim through other means.
What is it about the industry that makes you want to risk everything to be part of it?
So many things! My interest in fashion is always being satisfied by working with wonderful designers.
The hugely varied locations it takes me, either international or just great locations within Australia as well as the different people I work with means no work day is ever the same. This is ideal for me as I always knew I would never be happy doing a 9-5 job that was the same every day.
Do you have a strict beauty regimen? What are your must-have beauty products?
I adore Dr.Hauschka Rose Body Oil. I put it on after washing my face before bed. It smells beautiful and makes my face dewy and soft in the morning. It feels like a natural cure to all the chemicals my face endures each day.
What is your favourite food?
I am a fruit addict! Especially fuji apples!
What clothing label are you currently lusting for?
Chanel, always!
How do you relax from a long day on set?
Watching films or going out for dinner.
What are some of the jobs you have done so far?
In Milan last year I was working with designers such as Giles Deacon and Gabriele Colangelo, shows for Aldo Coppolla, videos for Vespa and print work for Golden Point.
In Australia I regularly work with Andrew O’Toole for Chumba Concept Salon, which is one of my favourite jobs. I also recently shot with Anthony Capon for Et Al which was great because I loved all the designs and the team!

Which designer would you most love to work with and why?
Frida Giannini. I love the Gucci designs and although I would have preferred to have worked with the label when Tom Ford was the creative director, they still have amazing pieces and are a standout label for me.
I keep fit by…
Walking everywhere! Unfortunately exercise for the sake of exercise just bores me. So I live very close to everything and walk whenever possible.
The last song I listened to was…
Embody by Sebastian.
If I wasn’t living in Melbourne, I would have a home in…
Milan or Sydney. Both have a lot of modelling work and Sydney is where Home & Away is shot (my next, not-so-secret goal).
Not many people know that I…
Make video clips with my little sister, in my bedroom. Even my housemates didn’t realise until a few weeks ago!
If I wasn’t discovered as a model, I would be…
An actress. I am always acting in short films and I study acting. It is my passion and I am hoping modelling will help me make some headway in that direction as well.
I couldn’t live without…
My family. I feel like the luckiest person to have been dealt a dad who cares so much more about his family than himself, a mum who is working to end world poverty and sisters who are my best friends!
just goes to show – you can be a beautiful model without being superficial or self-centred!
