With an underlying philosophy that states all pieces are `created in Pure Love & Light with the Pure Intent to bring Love, Protection and Empowerment to all who wear it’, you know you must be onto something special. Love from Venus is an inspiring jewellery label that has a heady dose of magic thrown in. Using the raw energy of semi-precious stones, the label truly reflects the quintessential Australian Spirit of a relaxed bohemian yet sophisticated lifestyle.
The concept peaked our interest so we touched base with Love from Venus director, Georgia Hatzis to gain insight into the spiritual purpose of the brand; how the energy involved in creating each piece contributes to the overall success of the brand; and the craftsmanship behind each design.
When did the Love from Venus label first launch? Why? Tell us about the history?
Love from Venus has grown in the last 3 years rapidly with over 200 stockists nationwide and Internationally and still growing. In essence it is jewellery with a spiritual purpose offering holistic benefits and re-energising wearers with positive energy – previously this jewellery could only be bought from new age stores and were very drab looking – whereas I created them with a fashion focus and stylish edge to them where the jewels can create the look for you and simply look stylish with a boho-luxe styling.
The philosophy of Love from Venus states the collections are created in `Pure Love & Light with the Pure Intent to bring Love, Protection and Empowerment to all who wear it’ – why was this intent so important when designing the label?
The intentions behind each collection created are what gives the jewellery its foundation, I am a firm believer in the energy involved in creation too. Ifeel it is also reflected in the success of the brand, people have been energetically magnetised to the jewels becoming sacred pieces to them and wearing them everyday, thus creating the addictive process of them buying piece after piece as they make them feel good.
Can you tell us about the craftsmanship and detail that goes into the design of each collection?
There is so much detail that goes into every collection seasonally. With a background in fine arts I am so meticulous that I create a harmony of colours that work well together like a piece of artwork until they are perfect. Then I have a team of skilled craftspeople who do all my traditional triple knotting of each stone and pearl as I do not compromise on the quality of how these pieces are made. This way they can become collectables and women who appreciate quality love and buy the brand.
Are there certain jewels and semi-precious stones in the range that help promote energy and assist in clearing negativity? If yes, what are they and can you explain their healing properties.
Each collection created assists the body both mentally and physically by dissolving negativity in the body – these stones usually are black agates, labourites, turquoise, hematites and many others. Positive Energy is increased by most stones especially clear quartz, reds, yellows and orange stones uplift us too. Soft and serene colours of stones including pearls increase Love and compassion and assisting in healing by calming your energy, such stones are rose quartz, aquamarines, amethysts and all pearls promote sensuality and the feminine making us all feel beautiful.
What have been the most popular pieces?
Most popular collections have been Bohemian Romance which is a combination of antique blue agates and champagne pearls. The colour combination, every female, no matter what age falls in love with them. But overall it would have to be the wrap bracelets, they look so chic and can make your outfit when wearing jeans and boots or add a touch of modern edge to classic clothing.
There is a strong bohemian feel to the collection campaign images – does this reflect your personal style?
The strong bohemain feel is a reflection of who I am and many others out there. Most women prefer to look stylish with a few high quality essentials, being our accessories that create our look and also reflect that we have not tried too hard. By having a bohemian edge it creates a relaxed yet sophisticated style. Like many, I will not wear artificial beads or fake pearls on my body to create a look – I feel buyers are far more conscious and take pride in what they wear – you can look great in a pair of jeans a white tank top or shirt and let the accessories create your style.
What is in store for 2012 and the future?
2012 has been another year of growth in the first quarter so far – with most industry struggling we are trying to cope with the continuous order load. We predict the later half of 2012 will be even bigger as when I go into Spring/Summer collections they are the true reflection of my brand – it is when everyone desires the coastal bohemian styling.
